AI quiz generator: from your notes to a quiz you can take, in one message

October 14, 2026

Paste your notes, a chapter or a set of slides into nixm and say "make me a ten-question quiz on this". The questions are written from your material and the quiz is drawn live in the conversation, so you take it right there and get told what you missed and why. Ask for harder, easier, multiple choice, short answer or flashcards, and it redraws. One credit a message, no subscription, and you can start without an account.

How to make a quiz with AI

  1. Paste the material. Open nixm and give it what the quiz should cover: lecture notes, a textbook section, your own summary, a slide deck, a policy document for staff training. Or just name the topic, and it writes from what it knows.
  2. Say the shape. "Ten multiple-choice questions, four options each, one correct." "Five short-answer questions." "Twenty flashcards." "Mix of easy and hard." The more specific, the better the quiz.
  3. Take it in the conversation. The quiz is drawn live, with buttons for the options. Answer, and it tells you right or wrong and why, with the line from your notes it came from where it can.
  4. Adjust by talking. "Harder." "Only the chapter on cells." "Add a question about the 1848 date." "Make the wrong answers more tempting." Each change redraws it.
  5. Go deeper on what you missed. "Explain question 4 again, differently." "Give me three more like question 7." This is the part a static quiz tool cannot do: the quiz is in the same conversation as the tutor.
  6. Keep it or take it with you. Ask for the code and you get a file that opens in any browser, so a class or a team can take the same quiz. A download button is on the way.

What it is good for

  • Revision. Turn your own notes into questions the night before. Being quizzed beats re-reading, and this makes the quiz free to produce.
  • Teaching. A quick check-for-understanding from the lesson you just gave, in the style and level you name.
  • Staff training. Paste the new policy, get ten questions, see who actually read it.
  • Language practice. Vocabulary flashcards from a word list, with the sentence they appeared in.
  • Just finding out what you know. "Quiz me on the French Revolution, start easy, get harder as I get them right."

How to get good questions

  • Give it your material, not just the topic. Questions from your notes test what you were taught; questions from the AI's general knowledge test something else.
  • Ask for plausible wrong answers. "Distractors that a student who half-understood would pick." Easy wrong answers make a useless quiz.
  • Ask for the explanation with every answer. The quiz is the excuse; the explanation is the learning.
  • Say the level. "Grade 10", "first-year nursing", "someone who read it once".
  • Check the facts. The AI writes from your material, and if your notes have an error the quiz will too. If it wrote from general knowledge, verify any date or figure before you give it to a class.

Free AI quiz generator: what free means here

You can start with no account. Each message, including the one that makes the quiz and each one that changes it, costs one chat credit; a free account, email link or Google, no card, comes with free credits to start, and after that you buy a pack once. No subscription, no quiz limit per month, no watermark. The quiz lives in a signal, nixm's version of a conversation. When you are signed in, the newest version of the quiz stays on the signal: send the link and a classmate takes the same quiz and can ask for more questions themselves, without seeing your messages. The signal dissolves seven days after it was made unless you extend it, so the notes you pasted do not sit on a server.
