How to make a graph with AI, step by step

October 13, 2026

Paste your numbers — a CSV, rows copied from a spreadsheet, or a plain list — into an AI chart tool and say what you want to see. In nixm's data viz studio the graph draws right in the conversation for one chat credit, and you change it by asking: a line instead of bars, your colours, a title.

How to make a graph in nixm

  1. Open the data viz studio. Go to nixm.ai/NIXM-DATA-V1Z1. It is set up for one job: turning data into a chart.
  2. Paste your data. A CSV, rows copied straight from a spreadsheet, or a plain list like "Jan 120, Feb 140, Mar 95". You can also attach a .csv, .txt or .json file. Excel files are not read directly — save the sheet as CSV first.
  3. Send it. nixm reads the shape of the data, picks a chart that fits and draws it, labelled, right in the conversation. That is one chat credit.
  4. Change it by asking. "Make it a line chart." "Sort it biggest first." "Use blue and grey." "Add a title." Each change draws a new version, for one more credit.
  5. Look at it full size. The icon in the corner of the chart opens it fullscreen.
  6. Take it with you. Ask "give me the code for this chart". It comes back as a code block with a download button (an arrow icon on phones), as one more chat message. The file opens in any browser. A download button for the chart itself is on the way.

What to paste for a clean result

  • Keep the headers. Column names become axis labels and legend entries.
  • One row per item. A month, a product, a person — one per line.
  • Say the units. "Revenue in thousands" or "minutes" saves a round of corrections.
  • Only what you want shown. Ten columns of raw export give a busy chart; three give a clear one.

A paste as simple as this is enough:

month,visitors,signups
Jan,1200,48
Feb,1350,61
Mar,1100,40
Apr,1600,77

Which graph to ask for

  • Bar: comparing separate things — products, regions, people.
  • Line: change over time.
  • Pie: parts of one whole, and only with a few slices.
  • Scatter: whether two numbers move together.

Not sure? Paste the data as it is — nixm picks a chart that fits, and you can ask for a different one after.

Sharing it

When you are signed in, the latest chart stays on the signal, so anyone you send the link to sees it. Signed out, nothing is saved, so a shared link will not show the chart.

What it costs

One chat credit per chart, and one per change. There is no subscription and no separate chart plan.

frequently asked

Can I upload an Excel file?

Not directly. Save the sheet as CSV and attach that, or copy the rows and paste them into the chat.

Can I download the chart?

Ask nixm for the code of the chart. It comes back as a code block you can download and open in any browser, for one chat message. A download button for the chart itself is on the way.

Can I change the chart after it is made?

Yes. Ask for it in plain words, like make it a line chart or use our brand colours. Each version costs one chat credit.

How much does it cost?

One chat credit per chart, and one per change. There is no subscription.
