AI lesson plan generator: a plan in your format, revised in the thread, no transcript kept

November 7, 2026

Tell nixm the objective, the class, the time and the format your school uses, paste the material, and say "plan the lesson". It drafts it in the chat: starter, teaching, practice, check, plenary, with timings and the questions you will ask. Change the timing, swap the starter, or ask for the sheet and the exit ticket in the next message. No account to start, one chat credit a message, no transcript kept.

What a lesson plan generator is for

Not the lesson. The lesson is yours; the generator is for the forty minutes of writing it down in the format someone else asked for, the questions you would have thought of on the way in anyway, and the three versions of the starter you did not have time to consider. Give it the objective, the class, the time, the material and the format, and it does that part.

The tools, and what each one is for

MagicSchool and Eduaide are teacher suites with lesson-plan generators among dozens of tools, free tiers and school plans. Brisk sits in the browser and drafts from the page or document you are looking at. Diffit starts from a text and builds the levelled resources around it. Canva gives you the layout of the plan. MagicSchool, Eduaide, Diffit and Canva store your plans in their accounts and Brisk saves them to your Google Drive or OneDrive, which is convenient and is also where your material lives from then on.

Where nixm sits

You give it the five things and the format. Objective: what students should be able to do by the end. Class: age, size, what they did last lesson, who needs support. Time: the real length. Material: the text, the examples, the slide notes, pasted in. Format: paste your school's template headings and it fills them. It drafts the plan in the chat; then revise in the thread: "the starter needs to be five minutes, not ten", "give me three questions for the check that catch the misconception", "write the exit ticket", "the worksheet for the practice section". The sheet and the test it produces are the same chat, described in the AI worksheet generator and the AI test generator.

You can start without an account. Each message costs one chat credit. A free account (email link or Google, no card) comes with starter credits; after that a pack is bought once, no subscription. No transcript of what you type is kept, and the signal dissolves seven days after it was made unless you extend it: copy the finished plan into your document, and nothing of it remains once the signal dissolves. A plan for a slide deck rather than a lesson is in the AI presentation maker.

How to get a plan you would teach from

  1. Paste the material. A plan built on the model's idea of the topic teaches the model's topic.
  2. Say who is in the room. "Six students reading below level, two who finish early" changes the practice section.
  3. Paste the template headings. It fills your format instead of inventing one.
  4. Ask for the questions. The questions you will ask are the lesson; "five questions for the check, from easy to hard" is the most useful line in the plan.
  5. Revise one thing at a time. "Change the starter" keeps the rest; "redo it" loses what was right.

Free AI lesson plan generator: what free means here

MagicSchool, Eduaide, Diffit and Brisk have free tiers with usage limits and school plans above them. On nixm you start without an account, a free account comes with starter credits, and a pack is bought once, no plan.

frequently asked

Can AI write a lesson plan in my school format?

Yes. Paste the template headings into nixm with the objective, the class, the time and the material, and it fills the format.

Can it write the worksheet and the exit ticket too?

Yes, in the same thread. Ask for the sheet for the practice section and the exit ticket, and each comes with its key.

Does it align to a curriculum or standards?

Only to what you paste. Give it the objective and the standard text and the plan is built on that; it does not look standards up for you.

Is my material kept?

No transcript of what you type is kept, and the signal dissolves seven days after it was made unless you extend it. Copy the finished plan into your document.

Is the AI lesson plan generator free?

You can start without an account. Each message costs one chat credit; a free account with no card comes with starter credits, then a pack bought once with no subscription.

How is it different from MagicSchool or Eduaide?

Those are suites that store your plans in an account. nixm is a chat that drafts in your format and keeps no transcript; the plan is yours to paste wherever your school keeps it.
